(formerly Love in Action)
"We believe that God calls all who follow Him to do works of service so that the entire body of Christ will grow in maturity, unity, and Christ-like character. Jesus Christ has commissioned the church, and its individual parts, to go into the world to share the Good News and help people come into God's family through faith in Him.
Together these concepts lead the church to serve "outside the walls" in order to share the love of Christ through human relationship and care, meeting the needs of the community around us in the name of Christ, and expanding the Kindgom of God on earth for the glory of Christ...
...ACTS will help OCEC fulfill God's purposes of sharing His love through action in our local communities."
ACTS activities include Serve Saturdays/Sundays Community Service Projects, Thanksgiving and Christmas Food Boxes and Gift Distribution, SON Shelter House Ministry, American Red Cross Blood Drive, etc.
Our ACTS verse is James 2:17 "In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, if dead."
More will be coming soon on ways that you can get involved and check back for pictures from past ACTS Events!

Thanksgiving & Christmas Food BoxesOnce again, OCEC is providing Thanksgiving and Christmas meals to families in need in our City. Please bring donations of non-perishable food, both for holiday meals and basic staples, and drop them off in the barrel in the lobby. Donations are also needed to purchase turkeys for the boxes, and volunteers are needed to help deliver the Thanksgiving boxes on Nov. 20th. Accepting donations until December 4th.
This year, OCEC is providing Christmas gifts for children from families in need, but their parents are going to get to do the shopping! We are sponsoring a shopping day for the parents to pick out their child's gift and then bring it back to the church to wrap it for their child to open on Christmas. We are collecting donations to purchase gift cards for the families, as well as donations of gift wrapping supplies. We also need volunteers to host a family as they shop or help with gift wrapping at the church on December 10th. Accepting donations until December 4th. Any Questions?
