Yankee Candle Sales

yankee candleLifeWire is going to sell Yankee Candles again! This time we are going to sell in the fall and will have the candles in time for Thanksgiving; how cool is that?!

Selling starts on September 7. Ends on October 7.

The file download will tell you the information that you need to know so refer to that for more information.

This is a great way to help offset the cost of Warm Springs and camp. All of the money raised will go to the student UNLESS they sell more than what Warm Springs and camp cost.

Prizes for the top 2 sellers:

Top seller will get a HD Flip Camera

Second top seller will get a $20 gift card to iTunes

Rules for the prizes:

Each student to be entered into the prize race must have their own order form; no combining forms.

The top seller is classified by raising the most money AFTER Yankee Candle takes their 60%.

All money and forms MUST be turned into Pastor Josh before October 11; 12:30pm PST

Antique Fair Clean Up

Fair LogoWe are going to serve the community on August 28th. The Oregon City Chamber of Commerce has it's annual Antique Fair on this day down on Main Street (go check it out...they have some pretty sweet old things!). For the past 5 years we have been helping the Chamber clean up after this event. This is a fundraiser for our 2012 Warm Springs mission trip.

Details for the 28th:

  • Meet at OCEC at 3:30 (we will be leaving around 3:45 so please don't be late)
  • Back to OCEC around 7:30ish (it could be as late as 8:30; depends on how dirty and how fast the vendors get their acts together. Just don't plan on doing anything until 9:00 to be safe)
  • For all that show up there will be some ice cream at either Yogurt Shack or Dairy Queen
  • HAVE DINNER BEFORE COMING.
  • Bring some gloves that you can use to pick up trash with
  • Wear good walking shoes and dress for lots of walking
  • Good attitude (which you have already!)
  • You don't have to make a commitment to Warm Springs 2012 by helping out. This is a way for us to show the community how much we love Jesus and how much we love them as well.

Jr High Fundraiser

Recycle FundraiserLifeWire has a great fundraiser (goes all year long!) that is both good for us and good for the enviroment! We recycle alot of your old, worn out or broken technology!

The cool thing is that this fundraiser doesn't cost OCEC anything. We make money and good money at that. The money that is raised helps us keep the JR high mission trip at a LOW cost and even helps us throughout the year to help families that can't send their junior higher on events.

I encourage you to go through your junk drawer, your office, your closet that catches everything, your garage, and go ask family, and neighbors. If you are so bold maybe go ask some businesses if they have anything in lost in found or any old items that you can have.

Here is what we can take:Warm Springs

  • Cell Phones Broken and old ones still can be accepted! (Please do not send chargers or accessories!)
  • Inkjet Cartridges
  • Laser Cartridges No remanufactured cartiridges; these typically don't have a name brand like HP, Cannon, Xerorx, etc. No copoy machine toners. Laser only.
  • Laptop Computers We do not accept: desktop or tower computers, monitors, printers, scanners, faxes, modems, keyboards, mouses, or TV's, etc. Just the laptop computer along with the power supply if you still have it.
  • MP3 Players ONLY the following brands are accepted: Apple iPod (all models), Microsoft Zune, Sandisk or Creative
  • Digital Cameras All brands working or not
  • Digital Video Cameras (camcorders) All brands working or not
  • Handheld Game Systems ONLY Sony PSP handheld, Nintendo Dsi lite, Nintendo DS original, Nintendo Gameboy Advance, or Nintendo Gameboy color.
  • GPS Devices ONLY Garmin, Mio, Magellan, and TomTomRecycle!
  • Radar Detectors ONLY Escrot, Beltronics and Cobra
  • E-book Readers ONLY Amazon Kindle, Sony and Verizon iRex
  • Gold, Silver and Platinum Jewelry No costume jewelry, plastic jewelry and no gemstones
  • Pop, water and beer cans/bottles 
  • Unwanted metal If you have any metal laying around we will be glad to take off your hands for you. Call Pastor Josh to set up a pick up time!
