The adventure fundraising race with eternal impact!
Race to 2025 is a two-day race that bridges the adrenalin of adventure sport young people crave and the extreme challenge to which Jesus calls His Church—to make disciples of all nations. During the two-day challenge, teams of four compete against each other in adventure sports and in simulated challenges of missionary life. Racers also engage in basic linguistics training and encounter a remote, ‘hidden village.’ Here, with no bridge language, they grapple with the challenges of culture and language while gathering and analyzing crucial linguistic data from mother tongue speakers. Inspired by intense language survey trips conducted by Wycliffe linguists in remote regions worldwide, this race is hosted in the beautiful outdoors at a variety of locations. Prior to the race weekend, teams commit to the goal of raising a minimum of $2,000 per team. These monies go to support Bible translation projects around the world. Each night, missionaries engage racers' hearts and minds with stories of lives spent serving God to help unlock the fascinating world of language and linguistics.
Just a quick recap, in October of 2012, the first ever United States running of the Race to 2025 was held at Camp Bighorn, Montana. Of the inagural teams, OCEC sent Marion and Byron Olsen, Brian See and Brock Bowers to compete. As a team we raised $2,000 for language translation projects in the Cameroon region of Africa. This was not the ONLY race however. The project aims at raising funds so that New Testament translations have begun in every remaining language by the year 2025. THE RACES WILL CONTINUE!!!

This year there will be two races nearby. In late March, OCEC will be sending a team to Leavenworth, WA. Again in the fall OCEC will be sending a team to compete again at Camp Bighorn Montana.
Our goal is to continue to raise support and awareness for Bible Translations across the globe. The goal of these events is not only to challenge participants, but to raise awareness, and to recruit potential missionaries with a passion for bringing the Bible to every nation!
