Join the Daniel Challenge
Live Faith Out Loud!

Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah lived their faith out loud. People could see their faith in their everyday behavior and decisions. People both high and low knew of their commitment to the God of Israel that was demonstrated in the following:

• Their eating choices reflected their commitment to the Lord
• Their prayer life reflected an ongoing, growing commitment to the Lord.
• Their daily choices portrayed courageous faith in the face of great risk and consequence.

Are you ready to take the Daniel Challenge? Here is what it consists of. You make the choice for either a 3,7,10 or 21 day experience. (You can read about the 10 & 21 day experiences in Daniel 1:8-16 & 10:1-4)

• For 3, 7, 10 or 21 days you change your diet as a means of denying yourself in order to feed on the Lord.
  • What that means is that you will eat only things that are grown from seeds planted in the ground or made from such products. (Translation- eat vegetables, fruits, nuts, grains and things made from them. It also means that you don't eat meats or things that come from animals such as eggs, cheese, etc.)
  • It means that you don't eat rich foods such as desserts and candy and that you do let God become more rich and fulfilling in your life.
  • It means that you learn to drink only water or beverages without any added sweeteners such as sugar, fake sugar, honey, etc. No "fancy coffees" and no alcohol.
• For 3, 7, 10 or 21 days you commit to pray three times a day for a minimum of 10 minutes each time.
  • What that means is that you stop and pray sometime in the morning for at least 10 minutes, sometime in the mid-day for 10 minutes and sometime in the evening for 10 minutes.
• For 3, 7, 10 or 21 days you will take courageous stands for God, truth and godliness.
  • What that means is that you will no longer be silent when in the presence of foul language, stories or abusive talk. You will speak up and encourage a new direction or walk away. It means that you will speak up for the things God values as given in the Bible whenever possible in conversations with family, friends, co-workers or classmates. It means that you will seek God's guidance in all leisure activities including web-browsing, facebooking, TV, movies, talk radio, music, etc.

Are you in? It won't be easy but it will be a blessing in your life. Watch how God can bring transformation in your life and your environment through your commitment to the Daniel Challenge.

• Share Your Thoughts: Use this to submit an experience, word of encouragement, a way God has been speaking to you or directing your life or how this experience has been growing your faith. After review we will post these on the webpage for people to read and be encouraged and challenged.

I pray that you will experience great and deep blessing in your life through this journey of commitment. Remember, if you aren't successful one day simply take that to the Lord and start again. He is gracious and will draw near to you as you draw near to Him!
