Jesus speaks in this passage about the importance of not judging others as if we were God. Instead, He advocates empathy and a reliance upon the Holy Spirit in helping us lead by example and to provide discernment on when the Gospel should or should not be preached.
Jesus continues addressing the practical display of righteousness by addressing the act of fasting and how it is a mirror into the relationship we have with ourselves.
We invite you to participate in our WOW bible study. It is a wonderful time to learn about the Word of God and how to apply it to our lives, have fellowship, and pray together as women. We want you to know it is a safe place for you to come - a place where you are loved and accepted.
The study lasts from September through May. There are three different group meeting times to choose from. Each group meets only once a week. Meeting times: Tuesday mornings (9 - 11 a.m.), or Wednesday evenings (7 - 8:30 p.m.), or Sunday mornings (8:15 - 9:30 a.m.).
The study is made up of videos and discussion time. Once you are registered, you are placed with a small group of women that meet at the church for discussion. To join a study, we ask that you register in advance. The study materials are provided for a small fee at registration.

The Women's Ministry is designed to encourage women to grow in their faith in Christ, to develop and strengthen intimate friendships with other women, and to provide opportunities to serve and reach out to our community for Christ. We offer bible studies, social gatherings, baby and wedding showers for ladies in the church, bereavement support, missionary opportunities, and much more.
Wedding & Baby Showers
Interested in hosting a wedding or baby shower either in your home or at the church? It is our desire to make every new bride-to-be and mom-to-be within our church body feel special and loved. Being a hostess for a shower is a lot of fun and a great way to share God's love through his people.
To make arrangements for a shower, please contact Cheryl Howell at 503-654-6695 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
Bereavement
This ministry demonstrates love and support to the bereaved families and friends of deceased loved ones by providing a luncheon following a funeral service held at our church. Service in this ministry comes in the form of providing a salad or dessert, or volunteering your time to set up, serve, or clean up for the luncheon.
If you would like to be a part of this ministry team, please contact the church office.
Shepherding
The purpose of our Shepherding ministry is to welcome new women to our church family. It is our desire to help new ladies connect with our Women's Ministry and the ladies of our fellowship. Our hope is that the new sheep in our flock will quickly realize they are welcome and belong. We want to introduce the opportunities available to serve the Lord or to be served by their sisters in Christ with our church.
If you are new, or if you know someone who is new to our church, please contact Sharon Ketch at 503-656-4793 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
The second part of the Lord's prayer constitutes God's daily provision, His pardon for our sins, His protection from temptation, His sovereignty in everything, and the prerequisite for receiving His forgiveness.
God’s absolute, unchanging standard is truth and sincerity in everything. Every normal word in the course of daily speech should be a truthful word, unadorned and unqualified in regard to its truthfulness.
Who is a murderer? The answer is all of us, because the fruit of murder is anger. Those who wish others dead have committed murder according to Jesus, even if it is never carried out in action.
What did Jesus think of the Old Testament Law? Does it even apply today or was it replaced with the New Testament? This and more is answered in a detailed study of Matthew 5:17-20.
We are the Salt of the Earth and Light of the World - Jesus Christ comes to live His life in us and continue to minister to the world through our lives. What does it all mean? You're about to find out.
Matthew focuses both on Jesus’ words and His works in 4:23-25. He introduces His ministry of teaching, preaching, and healing as further proof of Christ's identity as the Messiah.
